A Peoples Democratic Party chieftain in Kano State made a mockery of himself when he jumped over a fence to evade arrest over political violence.
An hilarious scenario played itself out when a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Kano State, allegedly jumped over a fence, abandoned his flowing 'agbada', (a flowing gown popular in Nigeria), in an effort to evade arrest over electoral offences.
The
party top shot and four other persons had been declared wanted by the
Kano State Police Command for electoral offences during the governorship
and House of Assembly elections in the state.
The
state Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Idris, while briefing newsmen, said
suspect, a close associate of a serving Minister, was implicated by 14
suspects arrested by security agents for the destruction of sensitive
electoral materials at Kauran Mata, Madobi local government area of the
state.
The CP further disclosed that when security agents stormed the suspect’s residence to effect his arrest, he jumped a fence and escaped into the bush, abandoning his flowing gown.
