Ogun State Governor, Amosun denies acquiring private jet; accuses PDP of ‘blackmail’

The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, on Thursday night denied acquiring a multi-billion private jet.
The governor said the “unfounded rumour” was sponsored by the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party.
He made the denial while featuring as a guest of a live radio programme on Thursday night on Rockcity F.M, Station, Abeokuta.

A photograph of Mr. Amosun sitting comfortably in the private jet recently went viral on social media where he was deemed the owner of the billion naira aircraft. Mr. Amosun alleged that the picture was edited to portray him as the owner of the jet.
“Let me say this clearly, I didn’t buy any private jet nor acquire any aircraft,” Mr. Amosun said. “If you carefully study the photograph, you will notice that it was photoshopped. They perfectly and criminally put my head on the body of another person.
“If truly the private jet is my own, I will come out to confirm this. I don’t know what level our politics is descending to with the blackmail of the opposition.
The governor boasted that despite all blackmail, God has approved his re-election.
He said the victory of the President-elect, Muhammed Buhari, was a signal to his own re-election, as they are in the same party, All Progressives Congress.
